Outstanding Service Wins the Day

Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA) is the only children's hospital in the West to be named to the "Honor Roll" by US News and World Reports. Treating 100,000 kids a year from around the world including 62,000 kids annually in the ED. In 2004, CHLA began the planning for a new $636 million, 317 bed facility - opening, July 2011.
Pete Sloan (BKM, Ventura Ca) recognized this opportunity and focused his entire organization on building their current relationship with CHLA, which had consisted primarily of small projects. Throughout the bidding process, the BKM team demonstrated themselves as responsive and nimble -- working actively with Interior Designer, Lynda Doty to provide excellent customer service with CAL 133 approvals and quick turnarounds on specials.
Outstanding customer service and alignment with Nurture and Steelcase brought to bear an effective team with a single point of contact. Providing concise and timely responses garnered the respect of key influencers - elevating BKM to a position of trust and confidence and ultimately winning the bid.
As a result of this projects success, BKM was recently awarded to carry the new standards going forward for a remodel of the existing Hemodialysis Unit.
